Who is Jesus? Chapter 37  -  Wee Little Zacchaeus and Jesus' Triumphal Entry

Today's happening of the Triumphal Entry is shared in all four of the Gospels.    Jesus was on a mission to arrive in Jerusalem, but as he was passing through the city of Jericho there was a small man named Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector, and he was very rich.   The man was trying to see Jesus, but on account of the crowd and him being so short, he could not see Jesus.  So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree in order to see him, because Jesus was about to pass that way.

And when Jesus came to the place, he stopped and looked up in the tree and called his name; “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.”  So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully.
And when the crowd saw it, they all grumbled, “He should not do this; doesn't Jesus know he is going to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”
And Zacchaeus stood in front of Jesus and spoke; “I repent of my sins, and Lord, half of my goods I will give to the poor.  And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will restore it four times.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house.  For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Each of us must understand that Jesus knows OUR name and regardless of our past, he is calling you to open the door of your heart so he and you may enjoy fellowship.
A while later Jesus went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
When he drew near to Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples saying“Go into the village ahead of you, where you will find a young colt tied, one which has not yet been ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’”

 Blessed is King Jesus

So they went and found it just as Jesus had told them. And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” And they said, “The Lord has need of it.” And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it.  And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road and some threw down palm branches with children dancing and rejoicing.

As he was drawing near to Jerusalem the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen,  saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”  And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”  He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

This same crowd who that day shouted Blessed is the King, would in a few days change their words to be "We have no king but Caesar - - so crucify this man Jesus."

Today is a good day to make your declaration.  Jesus is MY King and I will praise Him and will serve Him all the days of my life.  Know that Jesus is calling your name and He desires to be your King.

The day is coming when Jesus will be welcomed to Jerusalem. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.
Hazel, I am praying for you and all the people affected by the California wild fires and for the firemen.
