This teaching was given by Hazel at the Wednesday morning Praying Over our City Meeting.
John 2: And there were set there six water pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
(A firkin is approximately 10 gallons. That would mean each pot held 20 or 30 gallons.)
Jesus said unto them; Fill the water pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he said unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
We have been praying over our city for many months, and the season of harvest is coming. In life there are seasons, where changes occur. Solomon wrote that to everything there is a time and a purpose.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 (KJV) To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
We are believing that the
time of Harvest for souls is here now.
Many of our citizens are
comfortable in the life they are living.
Perhaps they are not aware that they are in need of something NEW and
better. We have been praying that our
citizen’s hearts will be softened and stirred; to receive the Good News that
Jesus is offering them a better way.
Jesus offers something new -
- there must be an exchange of the OLD for the NEW. The old must go; it has to stay in the grave
and the new must arise.
2
Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a
new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
John Chapter 2 - - The first miracle that Jesus did was at a
wedding. The people were enjoying the
celebration and drinking the good wine.
The wine was not necessarily bad, and it was actually okay - - but they
were running out of wine.
Mary the mother of Jesus told
him the problem, and then she told the servants to do what ever Jesus
instructed them to do.
When the person in charge
tasted the New wine, he remarked, “This is the best wine I have ever
tasted.”
Paul cautioned the Christians not to confuse
spiritual wine with actual drinking wine.
Ephesians 5:18
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be
filled with the Spirit - - -
Many of our friends have been
satisfied with their old life but Jesus offers a New and living way that is
better than they ever knew before. It is time for a complete change and a New Path in life.
Mark 2: 22 And
no one pours new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the
wineskins, and the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are lost; but new wine
must be poured into new wineskins.
