Talking Dash

1985 Ninty Eight Regency Oldsmobile in Blue

When I forget to turn off my car lights, or remove my keys from the ignition there is a warning bell that alerts me that I have forgotten something.

The other day, I was reading about security systems, and Alarms, when something caused me to remember a car we once had with a talking dash.

It was a Wine colored 1985 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency Sedan, a really cool car, roomy and better on gas than our previous vehicle.

"Your keys are in the ignition, your lights are on, your door is not shut,” are the words that came forth to remind us to fix it.

One thing that it did not say, was “Good Morning, or Have a nice day.

As I thought more about a devise that reminds us to correct an error in judgment, I considered that we all have that silent alarm within us, that when it is heeded will save us a lot of trouble.

If you are like me, you probably speak first and repent later, but I am still learning.

Psalms 141:3  Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
