Accepting Our Anointing - Guest R.T. Kendall



1 Corinthians 12:14, 18  Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. —

Every Christian has an anointing or a "Gift."

The apostle Paul called anointings "gifts" in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. They are God's gifts, which He graciously bestows on those who don't deserve them.

The difficulty is, ambition gets into the picture, and some don't like it if their own anointing does not result in a high profile.

Paul compared these gifts, which I am calling anointings, to the parts of the human body.

Some anointings—such as the eye or the head—have a high profile. Some anointings—such as the hands or the feet—have a lower profile. But whatever the function, they must all work together.

Some people have an anointing with no apparent profile at all—like the kidneys or intestines, which, despite their being hidden, are indispensable. (See 1 Corinthians 12:23ff.)

God's design is that there should be "no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other" (v. 25). Paul draws a conclusion: "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it" (v. 27).

There are those with a high profile, such as apostles, prophets, and teachers; and there are those in the background who have an anointing (not listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10)  that the King James Version calls "helps"—a gift to help others (v. 28).

The question is, will we accept our own anointing? Or will we let ambition and personal drive for recognition get in the way?   Excerpted from The Anointing: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow (Charisma House,

It was The Holy Spirit who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. —Ephesians 4:11-13

Father, show me what I am to become in Your purpose and plan for my life. Mature me into the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

So that the church will be filled with the intimate knowledge

Freedom in Jesus Christ

 

Today we will consider a prayer called Binding and Loosening - - as Jesus taught about Spiritual Keys to lock and unlock what prohibits and then brings an answer.

Matthew 16:19 New King James Version. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you BIND on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you LOOSE on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Jesus gave YOU and me, Authority to bind on earth the negative and then bind it in the heavenlies. (The atmosphere where Satan has dominion.)  Authority is also yours to loose the positive on earth and to loose it in heaven.
 

Find a quiet place where you can be alone and bring your written list of negative and positives.  (Refer to Part Two for a suggested list)  TO VIEW PART TWO CLICK HERE

Use your own words, Confess to Jesus that you no longer want (name the emotion) to rule and reign in your life.

This is the first step to Freedom.  (A desire to be free)

Again do NOT be afraid or think this Crazy, odd or peculiar, but you are to SPEAK to the attitude (name it) and command it to be Bound on earth and Bound in heaven and to GO and leave your life.   Go as far to say, "I don’t want you any longer."

This is important and next you must fill the house with the opposite attitude.  Repeat your command by naming the Positive attitude, and using the words Loose on earth and Loose in heaven.

Your binding and loosening prayer should continue until your list is completed.  If the Holy Spirit reveals something else, then take charge again and be bold to continue.

Once your prayer time is done, then take the opportunity to worship, praise and thank Jesus for shedding His blood to pay for your freedom.

If and when these attitudes try to return, Say “NO, you are not welcome,” and immediately take charge and reinforce by claiming the opposite positive attitude.

MORE THOUGHTS ON BINDING AND LOOSENING for others.

You have authority over YOUR OWN house and household, but realize that in praying this prayer for someone else, they have a will and choices are up to them to make changes.

However here is an example.  Let us say someone in your family is angry and fuming and the atmosphere is charged with negative emotions and you can even feel it in the air.

Quietly and silently under your breath, bind the “spirit” of anger, and loose a spirit of calmness and peace.  You and God have set in motion a change, and we trust that the person will respond using their own will.  –  I have seen it happen.

For your children, bind the spirit of foolishness, and loose a spirit of wisdom.  You can pray claiming other attitudes as you are nudged by the Holy Spirit.

Expect changes in YOU in your family and in your situation.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

Fill me now Oh Lord, with thy Blessed Holy Spirit.

LAYING MORE FOUNDATION - - SO LET'S GO ON

Let us think about positives and negatives.  Our world consists of both.  For every positive there is a negative and visa versa.

Reflect on this; God is a Good God, and Satan is a bad devil.  In life there is always a wide path and a narrow one.  Joshua said there is life and death, choose life.

Understand that attitudes and emotions are what trigger many conflicts in our lives.

Think for a moment of all the opposite mindsets, passions and feelings you can name.

As you prepare for your freedom, write down on a note pad, all the problems you are having.  Example: Fear, Freight, Anger, Depression, Hate, Worry, Anxiety, Pride, Panic, Phobia, Addiction, Nightmares - - and all others you might think of that pertain to you.

Along side of each negative emotion, write down its opposite.  Example: Faith, Hope, Gentleness, Peace, Calm, Assurance, Confidence, Trust, Love, Joy, Boldness, Reliance, Release, Freedom, Sweet dreams Opportunism, Assurance, trust, courage, and others you will think of.

You will NOT like my next statement and I urge you to not leave, but at least to think about this: 

 

We are in a Spiritual War and although this may sound strange, weird and creepy, but be assured that these attitudes and emotions are spirits and a spiritual battle must be fought.

I don’t like to call them spirits so I prefer to call them attitudes.

How these arrived into your mindset is another question, but it was probably in early childhood when the enemy took advantage of a situation and found an open door.

You are familiar to me and
 I enjoy your company

These attitudes have been there a LONG time and are familiar, often enjoyed, and many times welcomed to a “Pity Party.”

 By now you are either very angry at these words or you will stay and hear me out.

The BIG question now is;

 

DO YOU WANT TO BE FREE OF THESE NEGATIVE ATTITUDES?

Are you willing to give them up?

If so; it is time to clean house and empty all that is not compatible with a God fearing person.

Understand that once the house is empty of negativity, the clean house must be filled with positive attitudes.

 

If the desire to be free is there, you are ready to do battle.

How to Win over Fear and other Negative emotions  Part ONE

To become skilled at getting answers to prayer we must first consider several things.

If you have received Jesus, then He is inside you and hears your faintest whisper and thoughts.  It is in receiving the answer that we wonder why it takes so long.

We live here on earth, but there is another spiritual world that we cannot see.  Our response that we desire often has to fight a war to arrive.

Daniel was a good example as he wondered why the angel took 21 days to arrive. 

Daniel 10 “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; I was prevented many days.

Paul explains in Ephesians_6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

These words from Paul apply to our daily lives that are bombarded by the enemy who is trying to harm or kill us.  Paul says to put on the Spiritual Armor for your protection.

 Do not get freaked out and consider this mention of a Spiritual world to be weird, but let us go forward and apply the wrestling against darkness to our prayers.

 THE GROUND WORK IS BEING LAID

We are now ready to ponder our next step to mull over and take into account certain Truths.

Paul told us in Ephesians 6  To Pray always with ALL prayer and supplication in the Spirit.

There are many types of Prayer:  Noted in Ephesians chapter 6 are Six kinds of prayer: 

 

1. The prayer of Agreement

2. The prayer of Faith,

3. The Prayer of Consecration and Dedication

4. A Prayer of Praise and Worship

5. A Prayer of Intercession

6.  AND the Prayer of Binding and Loosening.

Teen Challenge Guests at Local Church

Sunday morning I visited First Assembly of God, Oroville, CA where the service was blessed by a choir from Teen Challenge and testimonies from a few of the choir members. 

 

The Director spoke about the life changing power of Jesus Christ to change lives and turn hell bound individuals toward a new way of living.

 

You may have heard of Teen Challenge and their amazing success record of recovery from addiction due to their focus on Jesus Christ.

 

(Some facts from Wikipedia)  In early 1958 David Wilkerson saw a photograph in Life Magazine of seven teenagers who were members of a gang in New York known as "Egyptian Dragons." He later wrote that he felt the Holy Spirit move him with compassion and was drawn to go to New York in order to preach to the gang.

 

On his arrival, Wilkerson went to the court in which the teenagers were being prosecuted. He entered the room and asked the judge for permission to tell them something, but the judge ejected him.

 

Upon leaving, someone took a photo of Wilkerson, who then became known as the Bible preacher "who had interrupted the gang trial."

 Soon after this, he began a street ministry to young drug addicts and gang members, which he continued into the 1960s. 

 

Later in 1958, he founded the program Teen Challenge.

 

David Wilkerson gained national recognition after he co-authored the book The Cross and the Switchblade in 1962 with John and Elizabeth Sherrill about his street ministry.

 

The book became a best-seller, with over 50 million copies in over thirty languages. 

 

It is included in Christianity Today's "Top 50 Books That Have Shaped Evangelicals."

 

In the book, Wilkerson tells of the conversion of gang member Nicky Cruz, who later became an evangelist himself and wrote the autobiographical Run Baby Run. Nicky had been the president of the gang "Mau Maus", and he and his friend Israel Narvaez became Christians after hearing Wilkerson preach.

 

In 1970, The Cross and the Switchblade was turned into a Hollywood movie starring Pat Boone as Wilkerson and Erik Estrada as Cruz.

It is a Christ-centered, faith-based solutions for youth, adults, and families struggling with life-controlling problems, such as addiction.

Teen Challenge is holistic – meaning that we are concerned with the body, mind, and spirit of those who come to us for help. Loaves and Fishes

Is it wrong to feed the hungry and cloth the naked? 

Lest I be misunderstood, NO it is not wrong, and my husband and I do this as we are prompted by God. 

In our city and other communities, many flock to ministries that offer a free meal, a bag of groceries and warm clothing, with out considering the true gift Jesus is offering.

Jesus was concerned about those who were only hoping to fill their belly and not partake of the Living Bread of Life.

After feeding the 5000, Jesus departed to rest and pray, while the people sought to find him.  They wanted more loaves and fishes.

John 6:26, 35  Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, You seek Me, not because you saw the miracles, but because you did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Those who provide food to the needy must also offer a plan of Salvation.

Some of my friends are sending monthly support for a child in another country.  As I view many of these children, they appear sad and are lacking the glow of Jesus in their faces.  Are these children also being fed spiritually to receive the Savior?  I wonder !

 

How many times do we attend Church only for the “fellowship” of friends around the pot luck or coffee hour? 

Again, I am not against social hours, because this is a time of bonding and making friends, but what is our first priority at church?

My heart is aching for the true bread and living water, as the loaves and fishes are beginning to sour.

A friend of mine provides blankets and sandwiches to the homeless; she was offered some help by some kind ladies.  When the volunteers realized that the homeless persons, continued to consume alcohol and drugs, they withdrew their support.  The helpers wanted the homeless to make a change in their lifestyle, but my friend was offended at their attitude and accused them of judging. 

Who was right?  Actually both parties need to pray and perhaps change their way of thinking.

Just being a friend to a sinner and enabling them in their sin is not enough.  The message must be clear that Jesus offers a NEW WAY of living and that includes living bread from above.

I recently left a church that suggested that I stop all verbal witnessing during their sharing time.  They said they appreciated the quick breads and cakes I brought for fellowship time, and of course the weekly contribution in the offering plate.  My husband remarked, I suppose they only wanted the Loaves and Fishes!!

We must ask ourselves, “What is the real reason I attend church?”  Are we seeking Jesus for Himself or for the blessings He can provide?

 

 Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never go hungry,
and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Waiting On God

Lamentations 3: 22-26
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. 

The book of Lamentations in the Bible often is depressing.  However, when I’m in a holding pattern, I find its verses are comforting.

God wants us to learn how to wait. More importantly, He wants us to wait 'with Him.' We spend a lot of time in transition, in trials, and in the valleys.

While we're waiting on God, He is waiting 'with us.'

Christian growth comes during periods of waiting, not in fulfillment. God’s timetable and solutions are perfect.

Are you waiting for God to answer a prayer?

My prayer is that you’ll experience and rely on God’s grace while you wait.

These above words of Consecration have been racing through my mind as I dwell on my will being lost in the will of God.

It is good to reflect on the old hymns that draw us close to Jesus and his sacrifice for us.

At the church I visited last Sunday, the Pastor called those to the front who desired a closer walk with Jesus.  Many streamed forward to surrender to the will of God.

 

I was reminded of my youth and the many times I too went forward in consecration.  At a young age, I knew there was a call of God on my life.  Not all of us have a pulpit ministry, but we can be a blessing as we share our testimony and allow Jesus to direct our steps.

He that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. —Hebrews 11:6

This verse does not say that God rewards casual acquaintances or with those who know something about Him. It says God rewards those who diligently seek Him.

"Knowing God" means to have an intimate relationship with Him. Jesus rejects lukewarm relationships (Revelation 3:15-16).

He desires all your love, all your passion, and all your commitment.

If you are in a trial where the devil has stopped you in your tracks, don't become bitter or talk about it. That will only compound the problem.

Find yourself a closet. Climb up the mountain of God. Like Jacob, declare, "Lord, I will not let thee go unless thou bless me" (Genesis 32:26).

There is help to be found in the closet of prayer (Matthew 6:6).

God said, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things which thou know not" (Jeremiah 33:3).

The promises of God are "yea" and "amen" (2 Corinthians 1:20).

God's promises will not fall to the ground powerless if you will fall to your knees in prayer, proclaiming God's Word with authority and speaking forth His promises.

Father, On my knees, I cry out to You knowing that
You hear and answer my prayers. Thank you
for the privilege of prayer. Amen.

 

 

Will a Nation Change It’s God?

God is A Covenant God

 

 

Today I visited Christian Faith Center in Palermo and took notes.  I have edited the message as it was quite long, but the main points are here.

 

Pastor Joe was reading from Jeremiah 2:11-13  Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? But my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

Pastor said, I fear for our Nation and this land that I have grown up in.  God raises up Nations and promises as long as they serve Him, they will be blessed.
 

God made a promise in  Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

He has said, “I am God Jehovah and I keep my word and glorify my name.”  The name Jehovah is a covenant name for God is a covenant keeper.
 

God said in Genesis 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

Our forefathers sailed across the sea to establish a Christian nation and covenanted together to serve Jehovah God in certain documents that they signed and sealed.

 

Forsaking of the covenant begins in Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Here in America the door began to open with just a crack to push God from our Nation, as ACLU requested that Evolution be taught in the public schools along side of Biblical Creation.  They reasoned to give students a choice of views.

Not many years passed until the Supreme Court ruled that no longer was creation to be taught, but only Evolution.

Slowly but surely the covenant with God has been broken, as prayer and the Bible was removed from our USA Schools. 

Next came the taking down of the Ten Commandments, lest the people be offended and think they must obey them.

 

Pastor said, “There is no easy way to say this, but our leaders have not been true to the covenant our forefathers made with our God.
 

Our elected President said on Television, “We are no longer a Christian Nation.”  He is the voice of the American people !

 

He has ordered the military to recognize Gay Marriage and it appears it will soon become the law of the land.
 

We have welcomed into our nation, the Spirit of Sodomy and along with it witchcraft.

Have you noticed in the past 6 or 7 years the acceleration of wickedness in our land?

It is one thing to cast off Jehovah God and another to invite Evil spirits to enter our nation and our population.

Ephesians 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

 

In 1973 Abortion on demand became legal and is now the law of the land. 

 

In History the image of the god Molech was heated and babies were sacrificed.  The reason was to bring prosperity to the people.

Psalms 11:3  If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

What can we as Christians do? 

1. Keep yourself in “Covenant” with God
2. Keep your house Under the Blood of Jesus
3. Keep your Church in the Faith
