Change Your World

Our Bible Study teacher at Open Door Church, was encouraging us to turn a page and write a new story of our life.

Begin anew and allow change first in you and then begin to influence your world.

We are world changers, but first we must begin with ourselves.  Get hungry before the Lord, with a desire to serve with humility.

People desire wisdom for situations, and when we have a relationship with Jesus, the Holy Spirit directs as we listen.

How do you see others?  Do you forgive those who you feel are not walking as you think they should?

I Peter 3:10  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

We serve a HOLY God and his children are Holy, because we take on the Holiness of Jesus.

I Peter 4:14  If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

Many of us have a problem with our thought life.  It is time to change our stinking thinking and dwell on these things:

Philippians 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

We are promised power to change our world as we become witnesses for Jesus.

Acts 1:8  You shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit has come upon you.

Jesus went to heaven, after He instructed his friends to wait for the Holy Spirit to come.  His mother and his brethren along with a total of 120 persons praying until the fire of Pentecost fell on them.

The time was a day of celebration as people came from all over the then known world to celebrate the Jewish Pentecost.

It was an UP count not a count DOWN.  There were wave offerings, feasting and joy.  What happened in the upper room was perplexing to the general public as they heard these unlearned men speaking in languages they did not know.

Peter explained this was prophesied by prophets of old, and if the people would believe on Jesus they could be saved and also filled with the Holy Spirit.

Something wonderful happened here as they celebrated the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ.

What impact has the Holy Spirit had on your life to make you a World Changer?

For your personal study, look up scriptures about the Holy Spirit and write them down.

As the teacher was closing the lesson, I was reminded of a prize I received as a young girl.  It was a “Promise Box,” containing verses on small cards.  Each morning I would draw a promise, read it and place in to the rear of the box.  At that time, my personal Bible reading was at night, so this morning ritual was a blessing to me.
