Edited sermon by Pastor
Allan. "Time to Step Outside the Walls."
Acts 1:8 You shall receive
power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses.
Witnessing requires you to
first become empowered. The disciples
continued in one accord in prayer, supplication, praise and song as they met
together.
They were powerful in ministry
even when they were persecuted. There
was no wavering regardless, but they had power to be bold.
Often it is easy for us to give our testimony
among friends, but a bit more difficult to walk outside the walls.
Stephen facing death, was
given power to witness even to die for his faith.
Paul and Silas were beaten,
placed in stocks, yet in their pain they were bold to sing praises unto
God. The prisoners listened as they sang
praises, and it was a revival service in prison. Bang - - and then prison doors were opened, chains
fell off, but they stayed. It was
important for the jailer and his family to be saved.
At times you may be
criticized and made fun of, but don’t defend yourself.
When you are empowered
you take church where you are and you change the atmosphere. This can happen anywhere, perhaps at Wal-Mart,
or in your neighborhood.
Of yourself you
can’t do this; it is necessary to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. We don’t want to fail God when doors open, so
it pays to be ready and filled up with power to operate in the Holy Spirit.
Know that God is the restorer
of families and relationships.
As you move forward, expect
people to become upset. Know it is not
the person themselves but the spirit behind them causing you trouble.
God desires to do great
things, He needs willing vessels to be empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Let us be moving forward as we step outside our walls.
