SOZO - - Salvation for the total Person

SOZO - - Salvation for the total Person

Our lesson for our Praying over our city, was so we would realize the struggle those with out Jesus are going through.  Even new believers often battle thoughts and emotions.

It all began in the garden when Adam and Eve sinned.  Their act of rebellion damaged their entire person; spirit, soul and body, and this damage has been passed on to each generation.

The word SOZO translated into English means Saved, and we usually consider the word “Saved” to mean: Be Born Again in our Spirit.

However in the original Greek language it has a deeper meaning that takes in the entire person: Spirit, Soul and Body.

When Jesus died and rose again, he enabled us to experience Salvation in our Spirit, also Healing for our human body, and healing for our Soul; (soul defined as “Mind, Will and Emotions.”)

Our Spirit is in our inner being and our soul is in our head.  With our Spirit we communicate with God, with our body we touch our visible world and with our soul we think, feel, imagine, dream, make decisions and choices.

Spirit is in our Inner Being,
Our Soul is in our Head
We are in effect a triune person:  It is good to remind ourselves, “I am a Spirit (that unseen Real part of 'me' dwells in my body (tent house) and I have a Soul.”

The Soul is where we usually have our problems; Our thought life and our emotional outlook, and our will.

Our wills are stubborn, and we desire our own way, and of course our emotions tip every which way at once like a teeter totter.

Our will must be given to Jesus first before we act on our own.  We must learn to submit and yield to God’s voice and obey His leading.

"Not my will but your will be done!"  We struggle with our emotions our fears and self doubts and our soul is in need to be redeemed.

Titus 3:5  Paul says this: “[God] saved us, according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.”

Our Spirit, Soul and body all need regeneration and renewal by the Blood of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit working in us.

Scriptures tell us the Word of God will convert our soul.  Claim scriptures that apply to you and make them yours.

Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Apply this verse by taking it apart.

Step 1.  Step away from the lure of Worldliness.  Put aside all that promotes lust, greed, or unrighteous desires.

Step 2.  This is where the Word of God comes in and reading our Bible is important to renew our mind.

Step 3.  Make a quality decision to follow God’s will and His plan for your life.

Step 4.  Memorize portions of scripture that speak to you and say them with your mouth to yourself when in trouble.  It is good to hear yourself say God's word with your voice.

Those who walk in Supernatural miracle ministry tell us that as we seek the presence of Jesus, - - we enter into the Holy Place where miracles happen.

I liked seeing this! AND my body is a suffering situation, BUT my brain, which isn't doing really well with the usual reading words, but it is using me to worship and pray and glorify to the Lord and focus on Heaven. I'll be focusing on people much of the time here and there, but focusing on the Lord is about all I can strongly do now. Thank you for how you shared this! Bless you.
