Ages to Come

This Post is from digested notes taken at our Bible Study at Church

Christ has brought us salvation for a reason; so that for all eternity we will stand as a living testimony to the incredible riches of His grace and kindness, that He freely gives to us with Jesus the anointed one.

As we focus on verse 7 of this passage we will understand that we are to be a living witness of His grace.

Ephesians 2:4-10 (ESV) But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Place your name in the scriptures above where it says "us," and "we."  Understand that Salvation is a personal relationship with Christ Jesus.  Jesus is our personal Savior.

Why did God place eternity in our hearts?  All who believe, and we being part of the “all” are included in this eternal fact; Eternity lives within us.

John states in his gospel chapter one that Jesus the Word became flesh and dwelled among us.  He lived, died, and rose again to receive us onto himself.

John 1: There was a man sent from God whose name was John, a witness to bear testimony of the Messiah.  John operated as a man, and was not that light.  His speech and ministry shaped the way for Jesus.  He articulated of the Light being the true Light, yet the world knew him not.  Some did not receive Jesus, but those who did were given “Power” to become Sons of God.

Light illuminates and chases out the darkness.  John begins his Gospel with the words, “In the beginning.”  Genesis chapter one does likewise.  “In the beginning,” the word was spoken and the world was manifested.  Light came.

Matthew chapter 11:1-19 tells us that John being in prison is questioning whether Jesus is the Messiah.  He may still believe that the Messiah would set up a physical kingdom in that day and bring about Godly rule on earth.

John sent messengers to Jesus asking; “Are you the one?”  Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and show John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Jesus honored John of whom it is written “Behold I will send my messenger which shall prepare the way.

Today is the day of Salvation, by receiving Jesus the Light of Eternity into our heart and life.  If you have not already done so, you can now invite Jesus to enter your heart and make you a new person in Christ.  His promise is to give you eternal life beginning now.

This flesh is weak. It's tough for all of us. Impossible for the lost. My heart goes out to them. May they find Who we belong to.
