Our Bible Study continued
about the Tent Tabernacle and the significance of each piece of furniture; a picture of
Christ Jesus. As our teacher taught the
lesson, I took notes and present a digested message here for you.
Our teacher had brought a small replica of
the Golden Lamp Stand which helped us visualize how it might be. She also brought a bottle olive oil and
poured a small amount in a beautiful dish.
We were to each dip our fingers in the oil and rub our hands
together. Olive oil is used by many
Pastors to anoint for service and to anoint those who need healing.
The Lamp Stand was solid and
made of pure gold. It’s continual fire
burning provided light in the darkness of the holy of holies. There was a central shaft with six branches, three
on each side and each holding thick olive oil to burn. Daily the priest would trim the wick and add
more oil.
Exodus
25:31-40 And you shall
make a lamp stand of pure gold: of hammered work shall the lamp stand be made:
its shaft, and its branches, its bowls, its knobs, and its flowers, shall be of
the same one piece. - - Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all
these utensils; wick trimmers, and their trays.
And see that you make them after their pattern, which was shown you on
the mount.
Consider the darkness that
was over the earth prior to creation.
Day 1, God spoke, “Let there
be Light.” And it was so.
Day 2 in creation; God separated the waters from the earth and
sky, creating oceans, lakes and rivers.
Day 3 He spoke to the earth
to bring forth grass, herbs and trees.
The earth yielded a vegetarian diet in the garden.
Day 4 God made a light of
Day, and a light of Night; Sun, Moon and Stars.
It is easy to understand how
nations without God’s Word, would worship the Sun and the Moon.
The Light was good and it
separated light from darkness. Early in
the morning there is the break of day as the light reveals itself to be Day
Light.
Jesus is the Light of Life,
and he is our prosperity and author of our faith. As believers we are covered with the Light of
the Holy Spirit.
Day 5. The waters brought
forth moving creatures after their kind.
Then God brought forth foul of every kind, and finally the animals after
their own kind.
Day 6. God carefully created a man, calling him
Adam, and God breathed into Adam the breath of life.
Day 7. God rested.
The Priests of the Tabernacle
were responsible to keep up the spiritual care of the people. Daily they trimmed the Lamp Stand and kept
the fire burning.
We are responsible to trim
from our life those things that are not pleasing to God.
Psalms 119:105
Thy Word is a Lamp onto my feet and a Light onto my pathway.

I like how you tied the OT in with Revelation… it's just moments to the mind of our Father.
Yes, Jesus is the Light of Life and I'm a Revelation addict, so surely look forward to seeing Him when I'm in Heaven OR when He's come into our world to bring things around. I can hardly wait!!
