I DON’T WANT TO EAT THOSE EGGS

In my most miserable eight year old voice, I whined, “I don’t want to eat those eggs.”

My cousin Walt who lived with us sat next to me at the breakfast table and said, “Why don’t you want those eggs?"

I replied, “They are runny and I only like the yolk broke and then fried hard.”

He laughed and grabbed a fork and a pat of butter and began to mash my eggs.  “Here,” he said, “This is how you fix eggs that are too soft and make them taste so good.”

Walt usually teased me to tears, and this was the nicest thing he had ever done for me.

In life there are times when we are not pleased with the situation we find ourselves in, but there is a fix if you pray and patiently wait for it.

Psalms 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Remember Joseph whose brothers tried to kill, but instead they sold him as a slave into Egypt.  Years later Joseph reminded his brothers that the evil they meant against him had turned out for the best and he was able to save the lives of many people.

Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Consider Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. The disciples believed all was lost.

The devil thought he had won by killing Jesus, but in three days Jesus rose from the dead and old Satan was the looser. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, eternal life was purchased for us.

We hurt in our bodies, our finances, our relationships and think what a mess, and question if even God can help?

Understand and believe that Jesus knows how to restore, deliver and bring about a change for the better.  Call upon Him and then trust that He is working on your behalf.

So next time your eggs are runny, just know that God can make all things work together for good to those who love and serve Him.

I am so very grateful that God is our Shelter, Strength, and Deliverer. Waiting is the hard part when we want an answer, but He will bring about that change that is higher than I.

This way of sharing was a real treat! OH, and, since the egg-chicken world has changed still since I was a kid, and then I liked the runny portions. I do what I can do. You made me smile! Blessings...

Lovely how you tell a story about your young self whining over an egg and your faith now as an adult. Isn't our God amazing? :)

I think I'll remember this every time I eat a runny egg! I'm needing God to hide me for a bit and this is just what I needed. Thank you for allowing God to use you and your writings.
