"And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One)." Ephesians 2:6, AMP
It’s fun and interesting to be around various kinds of people who were raised in different ways.
Some people were raised in an environment of lack, poverty and barely having enough. Many were raised by a single parent. Others were raised in a home full of wealth and a ‘you can do’ attitude.
We’ve known people who were raised to address others with “Yes, ma’am” and “No, sir.” Others were raised to say “Please and thank you,” and still others were raised without any sense of manners or courtesy.
Some people were raised to believe they are victims and the world owes them something. Others were raised to believe in independence and entrepreneurial instincts in a world that owes them nothing.
Some people were raised to see the best in others; others were raised to be critical and faultfinding. Some people were raised to change the world; others were raised to destroy the world. Some were raised to give; others were raised to take. Some were raised to take for granted the finest; others were raised to make the best of the least.
How about you? No matter what side of the tracks you were raised on – I have good news for you!
In Christ you have been “Raised up!” You have been raised up and seated with Christ in heavenly places so that you can live as His dear child, so that you can reign in life, so that you can be a world changer, a difference maker, a life-giver, a successful, compassion-filled, blessed, favored child of Almighty God, a mighty man or woman of faith and an Ambassador for Jesus Christ!
Today – don’t let how you WERE raised dictate your life any longer; instead, step up to how you ARE raised and seated with Christ!
Prayer: "Father, I thank You that I have been raised up and seated with Christ in heavenly places and that means that I have been authorized to live a life of faith-filled victory, authority, influence and difference making! Today, I step into the present-tense reality of how I am raised! In Jesus' Name. Amen."
