Shekinah Glory

Shekinah Glory Over the Children of Israel

The evening service at Open Door Church had just finished singing a chorus about how we need the Shekinah glory and the shift was now to the ministry portion.

Our service had several visitors and some were not used to being in church so one of the gentlemen did not think it out of place to speak out and ask a question:  "What is the Shekinah glory?"

Pastor Allan understood the situation and was patient to answer.  It is simply when God shows up in His glory.  In the Old Testament it was the presence of God visible in a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night that hovered over the Children of Israel to protect them and comfort them that God was there with them.

In the New Testament Jesus was our Shekinah Glory, and today we have the presence of the Holy Spirit with the special Holy Spirit gifts that demonstrate God being here with us.

The Holy Spirit is active in this place now and His Glory is all around us.  He is ready to deliver those in need.  While some receive immediate freedom from habits and addictions, others must strive to enter in to the fullness of His Glory.

A born again person becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit and God lives inside our human spirit.  We have been bought with a price of the precious blood of Jesus when He died on the cross to save us from our sins.

We must allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us.  The problem is we get caught up in the business of life and daily activities. We can even get caught up in God’s work and fail to care for our family.  There must be a balance.

What we must do is to be available to God, even if it isn’t in our agenda.  We must slow down and listen more, and take care of what is important.

It is time for us to declare Jesus on the streets and to bring in souls into His Kingdom.

You have probably noticed that cults have boldness to spread their untruth, as they are pressured to earn their salvation by works.

May we read our Bibles with renewed vision and come to the truth of what it actually says.  He will give us revelation knowledge as we open the Word to receive new messages to you personally.  Understand that God requires us to be HOLY and to be open to what He wants us to do.

The Shekinah Glory is when God shows up.  Let there be a desire in you to KNOW God in a deeper way than ever before.

You will begin to see things happen that you may not understand, but be willing to step into the Glory Cloud of the Holy Spirit.

We need to praise Jesus now and lift Him up.  We need MORE of Christ Jesus.  It was prayer and praise that brought the fire down in the Upper Room Experience in Acts.

Father God we pray that you will Show yourself alive bringing boldness, signs and wonders through your people.  Send your Shekinah Glory over us, filling us afresh to be used.  Reality is what we long for and desire.  May we become young and tender and breakable so you can make us anew and fill us with your presence.

Father God, Fill Me with Your Shekinah Glory

Amen, Hazel! My pastor just recently did a series of messages on the Shekinah Glory and it was so enlightening! That is what we ALL need to see and experience in our churches today. There is also no mistake when we experience it! Great post!

I had to think, while I was reading, about this Bible verse: "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God." For me the schechina means the the dwelling or settling of the Divine Presence of God.

These words of your sharing portion really grabbed realistically at me: "Understand that God requires us to be HOLY and to be open to what He wants us to do." I did some of that when I was younger in the Lord, but, now that my age thing and my physical/mental issue is a challenge, He often tells me where to go, who to talk to, how to pray, how to worship. So, I focus on Holy many times during day or night, and do what He tells me to do. Thank you for sharing this, b/c it was very realistic re: me and many others that I'm connected to. Again, thank you. Bless you.
