Do Not Fear

An edited sermon from Sunday Morning.

Prior to Pastor Allan speaking Bill, the Song Leader raised his hands and proclaimed, "Do Not Fear."

Pastor Allen began his message:  No matter what you are going through, God is bigger than your problem, and He says, “Do Not Fear, for I am with you.

Pastor said, about a year ago a stirring in my heart began for corporate prayer.   I am asking for your support for a prayer and worship meeting on Friday August 21 beginning at 7:00 PM lasting for 6 hours. ”  We will storm Heaven’s gates.

As you minister to God, He ministers back to you.

In the Old Testament to enter the Tabernacle there was a whole lot of regulations.  Even for the Priest, the rules were so strict that if they did not do everything right, they were struck dead.

Jesus paid the price so we can have direct access to God without fear.

Hebrews 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

This does not mean to be flippant, but to reverence the place of worship and adjust our mind-set to be an attitude of full surrender.

The Children of Israel were uncomfortable in the Presence of God.  They heard the thunder, the trumpet, the voice, saw the fire and smoke and they were scared.   It was a wonderful time when God appeared for them to witness, but they were afraid to be there, for their hearts were not right.

Jesus took care of the heart problem, and He has made us worthy so that we might enter in to His presence.

They saw all the miracles of deliverance, but could not enter in for fear.  Moses took advantage of God’s offer to experience Him fully.  He was red hot – longing for something more.  He was not like the churches in Revelation, that were neither hot nor cold, and God said He would spit them out.

Just being in the room with someone is not relationship.  If we are just calling on God when we have a problem; that is not relationship.  It is time to enter in and hold a conversation, and listen as well as speak.  Take some time to be quiet before God and ask Him to speak to you.  How many times do we hold on to our past and it actually defiles relationship.

We enjoy watching others contact God, but we must experience God for ourselves, first hand.  My encounter with God will not work for you.  You must have a personal experience.

Some take the first few books of the Old Testament and use them to follow after God, but they stop with entering into the fullness.  We have been grafted into the House of David.

I am not saying we will all be driving Cadillac’s, but we will all be blessed as we walk in His will.

We can argue that some things are okay for us to do, but if God deals with you about something; keep away from it.  Stop it.

Some have sacrificed their family to have a relationship with God.  They have boldly chosen Jesus and stepped away from family and friends.  We don’t like to talk about Generational Curses, but History does repeat itself.  That is why it is important to stay away from temptation.  There will come a time, like Job, that God will give you more than you gave up.  God is big enough to solve what seems impossible.

Father God, Begin with me and change that which seems hopeless to transform.  Thank you Father for Jesus, the open door so that we may enter into your Holy Place.

Riding in a Cadillac is nice, but you're right, it does not compare to walking with God.

I like the call to seek the Lord for yourself and not depend on any other's relationship with Him. He really does speak to us when we draw away like that. It should be interesting to see the results of the church prayer meeting that is scheduled. Our church has done this several times and many times it was 24 continuous hours of someone in the sanctuary. Tom and I always signed up for the middle of the night. It's adventurous to meet the Lord there in the wee hours of the morning! Those were great memories for me!

This is beautiful. We need to remember not to fear for it is not of God's.

All I can count on. Serving Him, worshiping Him, and having Him protect and touch my heart and my spirit and my soul. Focusing in the right direction. He is IT...moment-by-moment, day-by-day. Thank you.
