When Will the Shoe Drop?

When Will the Shoe Drop?

Seems like there is always something unexpected happening.  This time of year there are flu bugs trying to hit us and our families.

Many are out of work and finances are tight.

The weather is cold and heaters tend to quit working leaving us cold and shivering.

Cars need repairs, and tires etc wear out.

Word comes that a family member was diagnosed with cancer and surgery was a few days ago to remove the offence by new Gynecologic Robotic Surgery.  The surgery went well and she is home as this method has less recovery time and is supposed to be better all around.

Daughter Becky just received paper work for requirements to be on the list for “Liver transplant.”

Daughter Judie is making trips to Bethel in Redding, CA where healing prayers are working miracles for many and she reports each time she visits she is changed.

Husband is struggling with his physical problems, and we are senior citizens at most - - rejoicing in the Lord.

SO as we think about prayer and we are tempted to first pray for ME MINE and OURS.

Then I was reminded of Job.  Job had trouble after trouble and it was BAD tribulation.  His friends and even his wife were of NO comfort.  SO what did Job do to get God’s attention?

Job did not pray for himself, - - Instead he prayed for his friends.

Job 42:10  And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Lord Jesus today I pray for my friends, those who suffer pain and disease.  Those who need financial help from you, please supply their needs be it with work or divine heavenly or earthly assistance.  Those who suffer depression, please show them how to trust and enter into your peace.  Amen.

Thou Wilt Keep Him in Perfect Peace Whose Mind is Stayed on Thee.

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. (Colossians 1:9-10, NLT)

How I appreciate your heart and wisdom, Hazel. I'm praying for Robert, Becky, Judie, and you, sister. May our Father give you the desires of your humble heart. And may I learn from your selfless example. God knows I need it...
