How is your HEARING ??

Every Wednesday we meet at our Church to Pray over our city, our families, our Nation.  Pastor Allan has asked me to bring a short focus on prayer and this was my lesson for this week.

HOW IS YOUR HEARING ??

Mark 4:9  And Jesus said to them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

Luke chapter 8:4-8  And when a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town came to him, Jesus said in a parable, A sower went out to sow his seed.

1.     And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it.
2.     And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
3.     And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it.
4.     And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold.”

As He said these things, He called out, He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, Jesus said;

“To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

Now the parable is this:  - - The seed is the word of God.

1.     The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.
2.     And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away.
3.     And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.
4.     As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.”

Rev 2:29 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.

When you hear the word church, you immediately think of a building, but understand that your body is the temple (or church) of the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit of God is speaking to YOU personally.

Rev 3:2  Wake up! Listen up! Strengthen what little remains, hold fast and stand strong lest you fall.

What can we learn from today’s scripture lesson ??

1.     Hear the Word of God that says to believe on Jesus and you will be saved from your sins and your name will be written in heaven.  (A future reservation for heaven is made for you so that some day you will be with Jesus in heaven.)

2.     Make a quality decision to receive Jesus and follow Him according to His word and in your actions.  God is looking for those who “REPENT” and mean it and will allow Him to change old habits and create new habits that please God.

3.     Read your Bible everyday.  Pray and ask Jesus to help you each day.

4.  Make a firm decision to regularly attend a Bible Believing Church.

Each morning when you wake, ask God, “Lord, what are your thoughts for me today?” HEAR what the Holy Spirit is saying to YOU.  He will guide you and you will overcome. He has good treasures in store for your life ... so many blessings that you would never be able to imagine them let alone count them.
