Take Time to Pray

Hear our Cry and the prayers that your servant is praying in your presence this day.

Our Bible Study teacher Linda, asked us to use Psalm 67 as a prayer of praise.  I took notes and present her digested lesson here for you.

Psalms 67
God be merciful to us and bless us,
And cause His face to shine upon us, Selah
That Your way may be known on earth,
Your salvation among all nations.

Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the people praise You.
Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy!
For You shall judge the people righteously,
And govern the nations on earth. Selah

Let the people praise You, O God;
Let all the people praise You.
Then the earth shall yield her increase;
God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us,
And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Romans 10:14-15 asks us, “How can the Nations call upon Him whom they have never heard.  How shall they hear without a preacher?  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.  Their word went forth to the ends of the earth.”

In China there are many images of Buddha, as well as important deities and mythological figures being worshipped.  There is much superstition; but many have turned their hearts to Jesus and are developing a relationship with Him.  The Chinese churches usually are held in homes and in secret. Many Christians are being persecuted for their faith in our God, especially in other countries.

Our warfare is not against other people, because it the enemy controlling them and instigating them.

When it is time to pray - - what do we do?  First decide to set aside a specific time.

How do we pray?

  1. Worship our God – Give Him Praise for His goodness to you.
  2. Ask forgiveness – search your heart - -
  3. Ask for provision to meet your need.
  4. Acknowledge that He has heard your prayer, so Thank Him.
Ask God for direction and anointing for your day.  Be aware of God moments through the day, and take the opportunity to offer a kind word to the hurting.

For some the first thing in the morning is a good time to pray.  But for others they pray at the gym as they go through their routines.  Some pray in their car as they travel.  What ever works for you, just, do it.  Pray.

Use different patterns to pray and not always the same prayer.  Be spontaneous.

Allow God to change you first before He can change the culture of your nation.

In Korea, Yungi Cho pastors Yoido Full Gospel Church, with over 800,000 members, with seven Sunday services translated into 16 languages.  How can you pastor a church that large?  The answer is with leaders over home cell groups and Associate Pastors of the satellite churches.

Take time to pray and daily read God’s word.  The Holy Spirit is waiting and waiting for us to spend time in prayer.  Let the Holy Spirit instruct you, as He is the teacher/preacher and He will direct you.

Be diligent and consider Psalms 67 as a prayer over our Nation.

Let the sound of our prayers go forth and our words of praise unto the ends of the earth.

I like to add in one more step before the 4th, and that is to ask the Lord what His will is for me on that particular day, and to let Him know that I will abide and trust in it.
Prayer is essential in our daily lives, work, and well-being.
