Fruit of the Spirit is Self Control

Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT) But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Gleaning from Pastor Carl’s Sunday’s sermon on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit - - Self Control.

Self Control is essential first of all to control our tongue. The tongue is difficult to control and James states that even though it is a little member, it is able to create much fire.

The Fruit of Self Control will enable us to control our words, our temper, our attitudes, our appetites, our eating and drinking.

Pastor, spoke about our love for God should always be first in our lives. Our soul is worth more than riches, honor, fame - - or anything else in this world.

Jesus died so that we might live. He is the vine and we are the branches. All the fruit of the Holy Spirit is first in him, and then in us as we discover who we are in Christ.

Jesus said, the Kingdom of God is within you. As He is so are we. Out of the heart proceeds all manner of living either evil or good. As a person thinks, so is that person. Let this mind be in you. God offers us a new heart, a renewed mind, a brave clean heart.

There is an old song, “Create in Me a Clean Heart.” You may enjoy it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYZibL9w2U8

The Old Testament prophet Jeremiah spoke of a New Covenant, a New Testament, written in the blood of our Savior. It is a crimson tide that washes and changes us.

Paul spoke of the law not written on stones but now written on our Hearts.

All nine Fruit of the Holy Spirit is blended into one fruit and is to be activated by LOVE motivated from the inside to the outside.

Jesus said to abide in Him, and He is in us. As we give ourselves to Christ, he gives us all the fruit back.

May all the Fruit of the Holy Spirit Abound in YOU!

The Fruit of the Spirit is an on-going, always-flowing part of our lives as we grow more solidly in our Lord and as we live, and move, and have our being... in Him.

Very well said. It's easy to fall prey to the flesh. One little slip of the tongue in anger and the whole house of cards can begin to crumble. It is only Him inside that holds it all together. This one packed a punch!
