Taking notes as Pastor Jerry ministered on Prayer, he read from Matthew 21:22 Whatever you ask for in prayer ask with faith, and you will receive
God is not concerned with our
physical position in prayer, as some will kneel, some will stand, or walk, and
many send up small bursts of prayer during the day as they go about their
work.
It is with our spirit that we
reach out and touch God.
Our Need: The practice of prayer is the conduit to
God. Failure to pray is a loss of
connection with God’s presence.
Prayer is an action Verb, whatsoever you ask when you pray “Believe,” Jesus told us to ask in his name and we would receive.

We pray to forgive and often
healing comes through a prayer of forgiveness.
Come To Me: Tradition is that we have a need to know
God. Let us bow down before our
maker. In our hearts we reverence Christ
as Lord.
Some bewail the fact that
they did not receive. If we come
doubting as we approach God and if we are asking amiss, or frivolously, we may
go away with nothing.
Thank You: There are prayers of gratitude and praise. “Oh give thanks and tell of all His wonderful
works.
Forgive Me: Have mercy on me. Forgive us our debts as we forgive
others. This prayer does more than just
clear away our guilt. It scrapes our perfectionalistic, judgmentalism, off our windshield. Balance
is the reality that we all are imperfect/
Help Me: The Simplification is that we are beyond self
sufficiency. We can’t do it alone. We need help.
Pastor J confessed that he
worries, and we all must be reminded of the scripture, “Do not worry about
anything, but bring it before the Lord with praise and supplication.
Some pray for big things,
like “World Peace,” and feel guilty when they ask God for small things in their
life, such as a raise in their income, or finding something that is lost.
Go With Me: We
pray about our future goals; personal needs
and as a church. “With you O Lord is the
fountain of life.”
“We receive from God because we keep his commandments and seek to please him.”

Pastor gave us a story of a
child reciting her bedtime prayers. As
she finished her list, she said, “And NOW, Jesus is there anything that I can
do for YOU?”
As we pray, let us be careful
what we pray for, because we just might be the answer to someone else’s prayer.

Excellent post. I believe that when we are in constant prayer our Father will use us in some way for the benefit of others which will ultimately benefit our soul and mind. Good Word.
I love the child's ending. :-) Would that we would all be so eager to listen to what the Lord has to say, instead of wanting to do all the talking ourselves.

Prayer is such an intimate conversation between a child and her Pappa where His love is so well known to her that she desires nothing else but His, trusting Him to provide in all her needs.

Great post, I've found prayer a essential aspect of my life and day.
When I learned that I could pray as a way of connecting with God in relationship and not just petition, my whole perspective on life changed. Thanks for posting this.
I have had such amazing answers to long-term prayers this week that I am ashamed I had grown weary and unbelieving in them. Thanks for encouragement.
