Goodness is a Fruit of the Spirit

The Fruit of the Spirit is Goodness

Gleanings today are from our Pastor’s continuing series on the Fruit of the Spirit.

Pastor Carl began by reading the 23rd Psalm and emphasizing that Goodness and Mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

Pastor reminded us of the little prayer recited by children as they learn to bless their food.
“God is Great; God is Good, and we Thank Jesus for this food.”

He quoted the scripture that says though Jesus was rich; he became poor so that we might become rich. God is rich in mercy and goodness.

His mercies are new every morning. God is a GOOD God and He gives and keeps on giving.

Jesus is the source of goodness. Jesus is the Tree of Life. The cross became the tree that brought us life.

The Bible says that cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree, and Jesus became a curse for us to take our curse away. All the evil, wickedness, and sin was placed on Jesus on that tree.

He carried yours and my sin - - AND all the sins of the world.  Once and for all He demonstrated His love for us so that we might inherit eternal life.

We benefit from his death, burial and resurrection.

Jesus is the Key to all the Fruit of the Spirit including goodness.

Goodness is a quality which imitates God. Our lives should be a reflection of these God like qualities as we abide in Him.

We shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free - -

We shall be Free to live a goodly Godly life.

A ton of great scripture. "The Truth shall set us free." It usually is the simplest of understanding where we find the most complex and powerful God in HIs cosmos...

Wishing you well.

I love that prayer, Joyful Noise (God is Great). Little Boy prays that fervently, "...and den we fank Him for our food..." So precious, and reminds me often that He really is great and really is good.

Blessings.

Beautiful "good" thoughts. We need a lot more goodness in our world. Thank you for doing your part in sharing the goodness.
